Delahaye 135M – Francois Vanaret

Vanaret painted Peter Mullin’s Delahaye 135M in 2010. He was able to see the car before restoration at Villa d’Este in 2003 and then when it was fully restored in 2008.

Francois Vanaret was born the first day of the Paris Auto Salon in 1952. This was the last time a true Bugatti was shown, and the pre-war art of coachbuilding was becoming a memory. Vanaret began sketching as a child and now travels all over the world hunting exceptional cars and their histories. Vanaret has painted many of the cars in the Mullin Collection, and he is as interested in the stories as their immense beauty.
