Vanaret painted the fabulous Bugatti Atlantic in 2012. This is a car he had long since wanted to see in person, and he first saw it at Retromobile in 2010.
Francois Vanaret was born the first day of the Paris Auto Salon in 1952. This was the last time a true Bugatti was shown, and the pre-war art of coachbuilding was becoming a memory. Vanaret began sketching as a child and now travels all over the world hunting exceptional cars and their histories. Vanaret has painted many of the cars in the Mullin Collection, and he is as interested in the stories as their immense beauty.
